Validate or cancel an internal order

When to use it

Use this guide when you need to validate or cancel an internal order.

Before you start

  • Open Internal Orders from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.

What this changes

The internal order is validated or cancelled according to the chosen decision.

An internal order plans stock for production. Validation transfers the ordered quantity from sellable stock into raw production stock.

Steps

  1. Find the internal order and check the product, quantity, and status.
  2. Use Validate Order when its requirements have been reviewed.
  3. Use Cancel Order only for a requirement that should stop.
  4. Check the resulting status and validation information.

Restrictions

Validation needs validate access, cancellation needs cancel access. Validated or cancelled orders are unavailable for these ordinary changes. Validation is separate from recording processed output.

Only pending orders can be validated or cancelled. Where stock checking applies, enough stock and a configured warehouse are required for validation. A validated order cannot be edited or cancelled.

If something went wrong

After an unclear decision, reopen the internal order and check its status and stock history before selecting Validate Order or Cancel Order again.

If the wrong quantity or product was validated, ordinary editing/cancellation is blocked. Give Production and Inventory the internal-order reference, intended quantity and any processing runs that used it. Agree a correction before recording another transfer.

If the wrong pending order was cancelled, there is no restore control here. Agree any replacement with Production and check whether stock was already set aside; do not repeat a validation whose result is unclear.

What the correction changes

Validation transfers sellable stock into raw production stock. Cancelling a pending order prevents its planned validation; it does not undo an already validated transfer.

Check the correction

Check final status and sellable/raw stock history. If a replacement was agreed, keep both references and confirm the same stock was transferred only once.
