Delete or reverse a stock adjustment
When to use it
Use this guide to remove an incorrect unvalidated adjustment or review an inventory reversal.
Before you start
- Open Stock Adjustments from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.
What this changes
Eligible deletion or reversal corrects the adjustment’s linked stock entries and removes the original from the active list. Check stock before recording a replacement.
A saved stock adjustment can change stock before it is validated. Validation records approval; it does not apply the same quantity a second time.
Steps
- Find the adjustment and check its validation status.
- For an incorrect unvalidated adjustment entered on its own, choose Delete and review Yes, Delete. This also corrects the adjustment’s stock entries. The visible Edit form cannot save changes in the current system.
- For an inventory reversal, choose Reverse, enter the reason, and confirm with Yes, Reverse.
- Check the saved result and affected stock before another correction.

Restrictions
Deletion is blocked for validated adjustments. Reversal needs inventory-management access and a reason. For adjustments generated by production or sample orders, involve the owner of the original task rather than reversing only its supporting adjustment.
If something went wrong
After an unclear Delete or Reverse, check whether the original adjustment is still active and inspect its stock history before retrying.
If the wrong adjustment was removed or reversed, give Inventory its reference, reason, product and quantity, plus any later stock use. There is no restore/undo-reversal control here. Agree any replacement adjustment against the actual stock before saving it.
The visible Edit form cannot save corrections in the current system. For an adjustment created by production or a sample order, review the originating task rather than treating the supporting adjustment as a complete undo.
What the correction changes
Eligible deletion or reversal corrects that adjustment's stock entries. It does not undo later sales, production or payments.
Check the correction
Check the original adjustment and stock change, then any agreed replacement. Confirm the same addition or deduction has not been counted twice.
