Send a message campaign
When to use it
Use this guide when you need to send a message campaign.
Before you start
- Open Bulk Messaging from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.
What this changes
The campaign is queued for sending. A successful queue request does not confirm delivery to every recipient.
Sending queues messages for provider processing. Queued, sent and delivered are different outcomes. Cancelling cannot recall an already-sent message.
Steps
- Open a prepared draft or approved campaign and review the message and recipients.
- Select Send campaign and read the confirmation before accepting. This queues messages for the prepared audience.
- Confirm sending and use Refresh to follow the status and outcomes.
- Check delivery outcomes separately. Messages waiting during quiet hours are held for the next sending window.

Restrictions
You need send permission and at least one recipient. Larger campaigns need approval, uploaded lists need consent, and Bulk Messaging must be enabled. Cancellation cannot undo messages already sent.
If something went wrong
- Inspect the campaign status and individual recipient outcomes before any retry. Quiet-hour delays can leave work waiting without a failed send.
- For an incorrect campaign still eligible for cancellation, use Cancel campaign, then reopen it to check the saved status. Completed or already-cancelled campaigns cannot be cancelled again.
- Cancellation stops future eligible processing when the workers check the cancelled state; messages already being processed or sent may still reach recipients. Review actual outcomes after cancellation.
- For an uncertain or partly completed send, give the messaging owner the campaign reference, counts, errors and time. Do not resend the whole campaign just because delivery is unconfirmed.
- If a corrected message is needed, agree the wording and intended recipients with the owner. Check the original recipient outcomes before approving a replacement campaign.
What the correction changes
The send action changes campaign state and queues work. Cancellation changes the saved state; it is not a recall of provider messages.
What still needs follow-up
Recipients may already have read or acted on the wrong message. A correction requires a separately reviewed communication; duplicate prevention and provider outcomes must be checked before resending.

Check the correction
Check campaign and recipient statuses, sent/delivered/failed counts and remaining work. Record the original and correction references, and confirm the intended recipients received no duplicate send.
