Review or remove a driver

When to use it

Use this guide when you need to review or remove a driver.

Before you start

  • Open Driver from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.
  • Reviewing the list needs view access. Opening Edit Driver needs driver add/edit access; removing a record needs driver delete access.

What this changes

Reviewing the list or opening the edit form without saving does not change the driver. Delete submits a removal request; check its result separately from the driver’s login status and assigned routes.

Steps

  1. Open Logistics → Driver and find the driver. Review their name, phone number, email, status, vehicle and document expiry dates in the list. The Trackpod and Quickbooks columns indicate whether those references are recorded.
  2. To inspect the saved details and attached file names or previews, open the row’s Actions → Edit. Check the fields and document sections in Edit Driver. If a document cannot be read there, ask the person responsible for the driver records for a copy.
  3. Select Cancel to finish reviewing without saving changes. For an intentional correction, follow Add or update a driver.
  4. If an incorrect record must be removed, check its route assignments with the logistics owner, then choose Actions → Delete. Review the confirmation before selecting Yes, Delete.
  5. Reload the list and check the actual result before repeating a removal request.

Restrictions

There is no separate View action in the current row menu. If Edit is unavailable, review the list columns and ask an authorised colleague to check the remaining details or documents. Opening the edit form does not require you to save it.

Deletion needs driver delete access. Check route assignments before removing a driver; removing a record is separate from changing the person’s login status.

If something went wrong

If review accidentally changed a field but you have not saved, choose Cancel. For an incorrect saved edit, follow Add or update a driver.

After an unclear Yes, Delete, reload the driver list and check the person's saved status and record before repeating removal. If the wrong driver was removed or deactivated, give Logistics the original reference and assigned routes. No general restore control is described here; have Logistics and the administrator review the record and intended login/access separately before recreating it.

Check the correction

Check the driver record's actual status, route assignments and intended access with their owners. Do not assume removing a driver record cancelled routes or changed the parent login account.
