Activate or inactivate a staff user

When to use it

Use this guide when you need to activate or inactivate a staff user.

Before you start

  • Open User Management from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.

What this changes

The staff account has the selected active or inactive status.

Staff edits change identity, assigned access and active status. Delete archives the staff user as inactive rather than erasing the record.

Steps

  1. Find the user and select Edit.
  2. Choose Active to allow an active account or Inactive when the account should no longer be active.
  3. Check the user name and email before selecting Save.
  4. Refresh the list and confirm the displayed status.

Restrictions

Your account must allow editing users and activating or inactivating them. Confirm the staff member before changing access.

If something went wrong

After an unclear status save, refresh the staff list and check the intended person's current status before repeating it.

If the wrong person was activated or inactivated, an authorised administrator can open Edit, set the correct Active or Inactive choice and Save. Review activity performed while incorrect access was available; changing status does not undo that work.

Check the correction

Check the saved status by name and email, then verify the intended access after refreshing or signing in again.
