Update customer group settings

When to use it

Use this guide when you need to update customer group settings.

Before you start

  • Open Customer Groups from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.

What this changes

The customer group has the revised settings. These can affect delivery choices, ordering limits, pricing, and invoicing for its customers.

Group options and category visibility affect customer ordering choices and business settings. These settings are separate from existing order quantities and payments.

Steps

  1. Find the group and select its edit action.
  2. Review its linked customers and current settings before changing them.
  3. Update the name, active status, pickup locations, and option values. Use Add Option for a further setting.
  4. Select Update Group and check the saved values.

Restrictions

The name must remain unique and at least one option must remain. Existing option keys cannot be changed or removed through this edit form; update their values instead.

If something went wrong

After an unclear Update Group, reopen the group and compare the saved values before trying again. Correct supported values through the same edit form; existing option keys cannot be changed or removed there.

If the edit affected the wrong group or allowed the wrong delivery, pricing or invoicing choices, give the responsible team the group reference, intended values and affected customers. Review orders already created under the wrong settings separately; saving the group does not rewrite those orders or invoices.

Check the correction

Check the saved group values and linked pickup locations, then confirm the intended customer ordering choices with the responsible team.
