Remove a role from staff access
When to use it
Use this guide when you need to remove a role from staff access.
Before you start
- Open Role Management from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.
What this changes
The role’s staff assignments and permissions are removed. Staff may lose access provided by that role.
Role permissions determine staff actions. Editing replaces the selected permission set. Removing a role detaches its users and permissions; its row may remain visible.
Steps
- Find the role and review which access it provides. Check affected staff before proceeding.
- Select Delete and read the confirmation.
- Select Delete Role only when that access should be removed from all staff using it.
- Review the affected staff users and their replacement roles. Reload the role list to check the result.

Restrictions
You need permission to delete roles. Check that affected staff have the access they still need. If the role remains listed after refreshing, ask your administrator to check it.
If something went wrong
After an unclear Delete Role, check the role's permissions and affected staff assignments, not only whether its row is still visible. Removal detaches users and permissions; the role row may remain.
If the wrong role was removed, have an authorised administrator restore its approved permissions through Change an access role, then reassign affected staff through Update a staff user. A remaining role row does not restore those assignments automatically.
Check the correction
Check the restored permission set and every affected staff assignment. Verify intended access after refreshing or signing in again.
