Process returned or wasted rejected stock
When to use it
Use this guide when you need to process returned or wasted rejected stock.
Before you start
- Open Rejected Inventory from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.
- Use physically checked quantities. A customer rejection alone does not prove the produce has been returned.
What this changes
The rejection is processed as returned stock, waste, or the selected completion decision.
Processing rejected goods records how much was returned to stock, wasted or completed. These choices must match what happened to the goods.
Steps
- Open Inventory → Rejected Inventory and find the dispatched rejected item.
- Choose Process.
- Enter the actual quantities to return to stock or record as waste. Use the complete option only when the rejection needs no remaining allocation.
- Check the unit and totals, then select Process. Review the resulting status.

Restrictions
The row action requires a pending rejection and a dispatched order. When marking it complete, the quantity inputs are disabled.
If something went wrong
- Reopen Rejected Inventory and inspect the order line, received return, waste quantity and remaining quantity. Confirm the physical goods with the warehouse owner.
- If no processing was saved, enter the correct quantities. If part or all was already processed, do not submit it again as a new return or waste.
- Give the inventory owner the rejection and order references and the intended correction. The screen does not provide a general undo for completed rejection processing. Coordinate any stock correction with Finance if a credit note is involved.
What the correction changes
A saved return or waste decision updates the rejection’s processed quantities and related stock records.
What still needs follow-up
A customer credit and a physical return are separate matters. Check the credit note and customer balance with Finance; do not assume a stock correction changes the credit.
Check the correction
Compare the physical returned goods, available stock, rejection’s remaining quantity and customer credit. Confirm the same return or waste has not been counted twice.
