Create or edit an internal production order

When to use it

Use this guide when you need to create or edit an internal production order.

Before you start

  • Open Internal Orders from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.

What this changes

An internal production requirement is recorded.

An internal order plans stock for production. Validation transfers the ordered quantity from sellable stock into raw production stock.

Steps

  1. Open Value Addition → Internal Orders and choose Create Internal Order.
  2. Set order date, product grade, quantity, size, ripeness, and notes as needed.
  3. Save the order and check its internal-order reference.
  4. For an eligible correction, use Edit, change the editable information, and save.

Restrictions

The quantity must be at least 0.01 in the required unit. Add/edit access is required. Check eligibility before editing a validated or cancelled order.

If something went wrong

  1. Find the internal order and compare product, grade, quantity, unit and date with the approved production plan.
  2. While pending, follow Create or edit an internal production order, or use its eligible Cancel action before validation.
  3. After validation, editing/cancellation is blocked. Give Production and Inventory the order reference, intended quantity and any processing runs that used its raw stock. Agree the correction before recording another internal order.

What the correction changes

Pending edits update the plan. Validation moves stock into the raw production balance; cancelling a pending order prevents its planned validation.

What still needs follow-up

A validated internal order has no supported cancellation through this screen. Review sellable/raw stock and any later processing, waste or customer demand with the owners.

Check the correction

Check order status and quantity, sellable and raw stock history, and linked processing runs. Confirm the intended transfer occurred once and matches the physical stock set aside.
