Change a supplier payment date

When to use it

Change the planned date of an eligible supplier bill payment.

Before you start

  • You need supplier-payment rescheduling permission. Bills must already be validated and have Scheduled, Failed, or Cancelled payment status.

What this changes

The eligible payment is scheduled for the new date. Rescheduling a cancelled payment makes it scheduled again.

Bill validation can schedule a supplier payment or settle a zero-payable bill using credits. Scheduling a payment is not proof that money was transferred.

Steps

  1. Open Sourcing → Supplier Bills and check the bill’s amount, payment status, and current schedule.
  2. For one bill, choose Reschedule. For several, select their checkboxes and choose Bulk Reschedule.
  3. Enter the agreed new date, then confirm with Reschedule in the dialog.
  4. Read the result and refresh the list. Check each affected bill’s new date and Scheduled status.

Restrictions and help

  • Past dates and same-day dates after the configured cutoff are rejected.
  • A payment already scheduled for today can be blocked from rescheduling. Ask Finance to resolve the timing; do not assume the visible action guarantees eligibility.
  • Paid bills cannot be rescheduled. Bulk changes can partly succeed; check each result before retrying.

If something went wrong

If you chose the wrong date, reopen each affected bill and check whether the date changed. For a still-eligible bill, use Reschedule with the correct agreed date. Bulk changes can partly succeed; do not repeat successful rows without checking them.

If the cutoff, same-day restriction or payment state blocks the correction, give Finance the bill reference, current date, intended date and error. Do not enter a false date to bypass the restriction. Rescheduling a cancelled payment makes it scheduled again, so tell Finance promptly if that was unintended.

Check the correction

Confirm each bill's saved date and Scheduled status. Check actual payment evidence separately if a payment may already have been sent.
