Set an employee commission payout interval

When to use it

Use this guide when you need to set an employee commission payout interval.

Before you start

  • Open Commission settings from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.

What this changes

The employee has a saved payout interval or has returned to the monthly default.

Schemes and payout intervals influence commission eligibility and review timing. Existing generated runs are separate records.

Steps

  1. In the payout preferences section, select Add override or Edit for an existing employee.
  2. Choose Employee and Payout cadence, which means how often their commission is paid out.
  3. Select Save and check the employee and interval in the list.
  4. To return to the default monthly interval, select Reset to monthly and confirm with Reset.

Restrictions

You need permission to manage commission settings. An existing override keeps its employee; change its interval or add an override for a different employee. This action does not make a payment.

If something went wrong

If the wrong interval was saved, choose Edit for that employee, set the agreed Payout cadence and select Save. To restore the monthly default, use Reset to monthly → Reset.

An existing override cannot be moved to another employee. If you chose the wrong person, restore that person's agreed earlier interval through Edit; use Reset to monthly only if the monthly default is correct for them. Then add the agreed override for the intended employee. Check the list after an unclear save before adding another override.

Check the correction

Check both employees and their saved intervals. Review existing generated runs with Finance separately; an interval change does not make or reverse a payment.
