Check a customer order

When to use it

Use this guide when you need to check a customer order.

Before you start

  • Open Orders from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.

What this changes

Viewing or downloading this information does not itself change the source records.

You can check the saved order and its delivery and payment information.

A saved order records the customer’s requested items and prices. Saving a browser draft does not create an order. Later dispatch, delivery, invoicing and payment affect other records.

Steps

  1. Find the order by its number or customer in Sales → Orders.
  2. Select View from its actions. Check customer, delivery information, order status, payment status, and items.
  3. Use View POD when offered to check the proof of delivery, the delivery record associated with the order.

Restrictions

A proof of delivery is available only when a delivery record is supplied. Order completion and payment are separate checks.

Troubleshooting

What you seeWhat to do
An expected order or POD is missingCheck the order number/customer and available status/date filters, then reload. View POD depends on saved delivery evidence; ask Logistics about missing evidence rather than assuming no delivery occurred.
Order details appear wrongCompare customer, address, date, items, units, total and status with the agreed purchase. Use Customer-order recovery for its actual state, then reopen the order. Viewing it does not change stock, an invoice or a payment.
