Validate stock adjustments

When to use it

Use this guide when you need to validate stock adjustments.

Before you start

  • Open Stock Adjustments from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.

What this changes

The selected stock adjustments are validated.

A saved stock adjustment can change stock before it is validated. Validation records approval; it does not apply the same quantity a second time.

Steps

  1. Find the pending adjustment and check its reason and quantity.
  2. Use Validate for one record or select eligible rows and choose Bulk Validate.
  3. Review the confirmation and use Yes, Validate when correct.
  4. Check the validation status.

Restrictions

Approval access is required. Validated adjustments are unavailable for ordinary editing or deletion; check all selected rows before bulk validation.

A stock deduction needs enough stock for the quantity being removed. Stock changes when a normal adjustment is saved, before validation. Validation records approval without applying the quantity a second time; an already validated adjustment cannot be validated again.

If something went wrong

After an unclear Validate or Bulk Validate, refresh each selected adjustment and check its validation status before retrying failed rows. Stock already changed when a normal adjustment was saved; validation must not apply it again.

If you validated the wrong adjustment, ordinary deletion is blocked. Have Inventory review Delete or reverse a stock adjustment against the reason, quantity and later stock use. Do not enter an opposite adjustment simply to offset an unreviewed mistake.

Check the correction

Check each selected reference, validation state and stock history. Keep any reversal/replacement references with the original.
