Update prices in the pricing list

When to use it

Use this guide when you need to update prices in the pricing list.

Before you start

  • Open Pricing from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.

What this changes

The selected unit’s pricing information is updated.

Saved prices affect pricing choices for orders. A general price and a customer-specific price are separate records.

Steps

  1. Open Inventory → Pricing and find the product or SKU (the code for a particular product, grade, and unit).
  2. Start editing the required row. Check the unit before updating competitor prices, market price, buying price, selling price, or transport inclusion.
  3. Use the row save control and check the saved prices and last-updated information.

Restrictions

Editing needs pricing add/edit access. Buying and selling price visibility have separate permissions. Save or cancel open row edits before leaving the screen.

If something went wrong

Before using the row save control, correct the price and unit or cancel the open row edit. After an unclear save, reload that row and compare the saved values before trying again.

For a wrong saved general price, edit the same product/grade/unit row and save the approved price. If the price seen by one customer is still wrong, inspect their customer-specific prices rather than changing the general price again.

Check the correction

Check the saved price and unit against the approved price sheet. Review orders and invoices already created at the wrong price with Sales and Finance separately; a list edit does not rewrite them.
