Sync an adjustment to QuickBooks
When to use it
Use this guide when you need to sync an adjustment to QuickBooks.
Before you start
- Open Stock Adjustments from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.
What this changes
The adjustment is submitted to QuickBooks.
A saved stock adjustment can change stock before it is validated. Validation records approval; it does not apply the same quantity a second time.
Steps
- Find the adjustment and check that it is the intended record.
- Use Sync to QB where available to your approval access.
- Wait for the result and check the recorded sync information.

Restrictions
The sync control is disabled once a sync date is recorded. Check the existing result before retrying an uncertain response.
If something went wrong
After an unclear Sync to QB, check the adjustment's recorded sync date and have Finance check QuickBooks before retrying. The control is disabled after a sync date is recorded.
If an incorrect adjustment was sent, review its ERP stock correction with Inventory and its accounting correction with Finance. Follow Adjustment recovery; deleting or reversing the ERP record is not proof that the QuickBooks entry changed.
Check the correction
Match the adjustment reference and amount to the accounting entry, and check the stock correction separately. Confirm no duplicate accounting entry was created.
