Delete or reverse a stock movement

When to use it

Use this guide to remove an incorrect unvalidated movement or review an inventory reversal.

Before you start

  • Open Stock Movement from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.

What this changes

Eligible deletion or reversal corrects the linked movement entries and removes the original from the active list. Check source and destination stock before creating a replacement.

Saving a normal stock movement changes both the source and destination stock. Validation records approval after that movement.

Steps

  1. Find the movement and check its validation status.
  2. For an incorrect unvalidated movement entered on its own, use Delete and review the confirmation. This also corrects its stock entries. The visible Edit form cannot save changes in the current system.
  3. Use Reverse only for an inventory reversal. Enter a reason and confirm with Yes, Reverse.
  4. Check the updated movement and stock records.

Restrictions

Validated movements cannot be deleted. Reversal needs inventory-management access and a reason. For movements generated by production, involve Production and Inventory; reversing a supporting movement alone does not undo processing.

If something went wrong

After an unclear Delete or Reverse, check the original movement and stock history for both grades before retrying.

If the wrong movement was removed or reversed, give Inventory its reference, source/destination grades, quantity and later stock use. There is no restore/undo-reversal control here. Agree any replacement against the goods actually moved before saving it.

The visible Edit form cannot save corrections. For a movement created by production, review the processing run with Production and Inventory; reversing its supporting movement does not undo the complete run.

Check the correction

Check the original movement, both grade balances and any replacement. Confirm the same transfer has not been recorded twice.
