Delete an incorrect product
When to use it
Use this guide when you need to delete an incorrect product.
Before you start
- Open Products from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.
- Check with the product owner before removing a record used by other staff. Delete removes its grades from the available list; it does not erase the parent product record.
What this changes
The product’s grades are removed from the available list. The parent product record remains; do not treat the success message as confirmation that all product history was erased.
Product, grade, unit and availability settings affect how staff find, price and enter stock or orders for that item.
Steps
- Find the correct product and review its grades, units, and existing activity.
- Use Actions → Delete.
- Check the confirmation and select Yes, Delete only when removal is appropriate.
- Reload the list and check the result.

Restrictions
Deletion needs delete product access. Review existing stock and orders with the product owner before using it. There is no restore control for the removed grades in this guide.
If something went wrong
After an unclear Yes, Delete, reload the product and grade lists before repeating deletion. The deletion removes the product's grades while the parent product record may remain visible.
If the wrong product's grades were removed, give Inventory and the administrator the product reference, removed grades and linked stock/orders. There is no restore control in this guide; do not recreate grades and assume the original references or links were restored.
Check the correction
Check the remaining product/grade records and affected orders and stock with their owners. Confirm staff have a reviewed replacement only if one was agreed.
