Generate a finance report

When to use it

Use this guide when you need to generate a finance report.

Before you start

  • Open Accounts Receivables from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.

What this changes

Viewing or downloading this information does not itself change the source records.

The selected finance report is generated for the chosen scope.

Reports and statements show recorded balances. Bad-debt marking changes the invoice’s classification, not whether cash was received.

Steps

  1. Open the reports area in Accounts Receivables.
  2. Choose the required receivables, payables, or inventory report. Set the dates, customer, and column scope shown for that report.
  3. Select Generate Report.
  4. Check the report title, dates, totals, and filters before downloading or using it.

Restrictions

Payables are amounts owed to suppliers or vendors. Different report types use different date and column controls; compare reports only when their scopes match.

Troubleshooting

What you seeWhat to do
The generated report is empty or has the wrong scopeCheck report type, dates, customer and selected columns before Generate Report. Compare a known reference with the source records; a failed or empty report does not confirm that nothing is owed or held in stock.
The totals appear wrongAsk Finance to compare the relevant invoices, payments, payable records or stock entries using the same dates, units and currency. After a confirmed source correction, generate the report again.
An earlier report was sharedCheck the regenerated title, period, columns and totals, then replace the old downloaded copy and tell recipients which version to use.
