Check customer balances and open invoices

When to use it

Use this guide when you need to check customer balances and open invoices.

Before you start

  • Open Accounts Receivables from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.

What this changes

Viewing or downloading this information does not itself change the source records.

You can check the money customers still owe and the invoices behind it.

Reports and statements show recorded balances. Bad-debt marking changes the invoice’s classification, not whether cash was received.

Steps

  1. Open Finance → Accounts Receivables and choose the invoice list or customer overview.
  2. Use customer, search, and date filters to find the required records.
  3. Compare invoice amount, amount paid, outstanding balance, due date, and status. Use View Invoice for the document.
  4. Use Export CSV where offered to download the selected scope.

Restrictions

Accounts receivable means money owed by customers. An overdue invoice and a bad debt are different statuses; do not change one merely to clear the list.

Troubleshooting

What you seeWhat to do

The balance appears wrongCompare invoice amounts, credits and booked payments with the actual payment evidence. Have Finance correct the relevant source record, then refresh and compare the same customer/invoices again.
