Submit a message campaign for approval

When to use it

Use this guide when you need to submit a message campaign for approval.

Before you start

  • Open Bulk Messaging from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.

What this changes

The draft waits for approval. Submitting does not send messages.

A campaign saves message text and recipient choices. Preparing recipients, submission and approval do not by themselves confirm that recipients received a message.

Steps

  1. Open the draft and prepare its recipients.
  2. Check the final message, audience, eligible count, and skipped recipients.
  3. Select Submit for approval and check that the status becomes pending_approval.
  4. Ask an authorised colleague to review the campaign before it is sent.

Restrictions

Only drafts with at least one prepared recipient can be submitted. Campaigns above the configured recipient limit require approval before sending.

If something went wrong

After an unclear submission, refresh the campaign and check whether it is already pending_approval before submitting again.

If you submitted the wrong message or audience, tell the approver not to approve it. Use Cancel campaign where eligible and prepare a corrected draft; there is no saved-message or audience editor. If it has already been approved, follow Approval recovery.

Check the correction

Check the original cancellation state and replacement text, recipients and approval status before sending.
