Import a campaign recipient list

When to use it

Use this guide when you need to import a campaign recipient list.

Before you start

  • Open Bulk Messaging from the module menu. Your account must have access to this screen and permission for the action you want to complete.

What this changes

Valid recipients are imported after consent is recorded. The campaign remains a draft until you submit or send it.

A campaign saves message text and recipient choices. Preparing recipients, submission and approval do not by themselves confirm that recipients received a message.

Steps

  1. Open a Custom upload draft and select Download template.
  2. Fill its phone and name columns. Use a CSV or Excel file no larger than 10 MB.
  3. Select Browse files, choose the file, and read the preview. Correct invalid rows before continuing.
  4. Select Review consent and import. Confirm only if recipients have consented to marketing texts.
  5. Select Attest consent and import. Wait for import results and review imported, skipped, and failed rows before sending.

Restrictions

Use the campaign creator to confirm consent and import the file. Only custom-upload campaigns accept this import. If import status is uncertain, refresh before uploading again.

If something went wrong

Correct invalid phone numbers or unintended recipients in the file before Attest consent and import. Confirm consent for the intended list.

After an unclear import, refresh the campaign and inspect imported, skipped and failed counts before uploading again. If the imported audience is wrong, do not submit or send it. There is no saved-audience editor here; cancel the eligible incorrect campaign and create a corrected custom-upload draft. If sending has begun, follow Sending recovery.

Check the correction

Compare the replacement's imported recipients and consent with the intended file. Check skipped/failed rows and confirm the cancelled campaign is not being sent.
